Position: Pre-K Student Support Floater Direct Supervisor: Pre-K Director Responsible to: Lead Teacher, Pre-K Director Qualifications Preferred: ? CDA (Child Development Associate Degree), or Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, or Bachelor’s Degree with at least 12 hours of successfully completed Early Childhood coursework ? Preferred minimum of 2 + years of experience in a child care program ? Demonstrated ability or requisite personal qualities to work well with children and adults ? Ability to pass all required background checks, including Arkansas Child Maltreatment Registry check Pre-K Philosophy and Program Expectations: ? Places children as the first priority ? Promotes teamwork ? Attends DHS Licensing training Interactions with Parents and Staff: ? Works to build positive relationships with co-workers ? Communicates effectively with other adults in the program ? Demonstrates respect for parents and co-workers ? Works as a part of a team with concern for the entire program Interactions with Children: ? Exhibits positive interaction through communication, actions, contact, and responsiveness ? Encourages language development through activities, songs, questions, books and other means ? Utilizes appropriate child guidance Classroom Responsibilities: ? Collaborates with Lead Teacher ? Follows guidance from Lead Teacher and site based para-Pro ? Provides individual support for specific students identified by the teacher ? Follows daily schedule while meeting the needs of the children Activities and Environments: ? Maintains a clean, organized and inviting classroom environment ? Uses the outdoors as part of the learning environment Health, Safety and Emergency Procedures: ? Has a thorough knowledge of and follows emergency plans ? Understands and follows all child supervision policies and procedures ? Abides by all health and safety standards ? Checks children for signs of illness or accidents ? Follows all Fayetteville School District, Arkansas Better Chance, Better Beginnings and Department of Human Services policies and procedures
