Qualification: Current Arkansas Teaching License Preferred Qualifications: ESL Certification on Arkansas Teaching License; Adult Education Certification on Arkansas Teaching License; Two years teaching experience; Teaching a language other than English; Experience learning a different language. Classroom/Program Management: 1. Provide instruction as an English as a Second Language instructor. 2. Apply research-based instructional practices that incorporate the use of computers and other technologies. 3. Use a variety of instructional strategies and tools appropriate to the needs of the student. 4. Provide continuous feedback and adjust instruction to maximize student learning. 5. Work with colleagues to develop and evaluate curriculum and materials. 6. Integrate work, family, and community-related activities into instruction. 7. Use formal and informal assessment data to monitor and document student progress. 8. Schedule post-testing for students. 9. Collect and manage accurate data for program improvement and accountability. 10. Actively participate in the retention and follow-up of students. 11. Maintain accurate student attendance records. 12. Enter student attendance hours into the student database system weekly. 13. Have a procedure in place for monitoring students not attending classes, which includes how and when to contact the student. 14. Help students with goal setting and complete manual outcome records when needed. 15. Update student files as needed. 16. Actively engage in program improvement. This part-time position is for the 2019-2020 school year only. The position is for a total of 5.5 hours a week and the person hired will work two to three nights a week.
